The party last night was a lot of fun, but a weird mix of people at the same time. Tonight should be good too. Jenny's buying 8 pizzas and making 80 chicken wings. She's an awesome cook, but she always cooks so much. There's about 16 people coming, so each person has to eat a half of a pizza and 5 wings. I guess that's doable. I feel kinda bad though, because a few of us are planning on leaving at about 11 to go bull riding. (a mechanical one at a bar) We'll see if I get to go... I really want to and the bar only has the bull once a month. I'll have to remember to post a pic of me riding a bull in cancun (also mechanical) when my cousin sends it to me.
Saturday, January 26, 2008

Cancun was fun, ... I miss the warm sunshine and water, but this picture brings a smile to my face. I went for a long walk on the beach and picked up a coconut along the way. At the end of the walk I smashed the coconut open on some rocks. The coconut was good and the coconut water was ok.

Thursday, January 24, 2008

I'm in a bad mood, but yellow's supposed to be a happy color. Damn do I feel like a dumb ass today, but on the bright side my one o'clock meeting was canceled AND tonight is karaoke night at midtown tavern. I took a half day today to commemorate the great strides made against discrimination over the past 50+ years. There are still a great number of people out there that who need to learn a few lessons, but I'll get to that later. I probably wouldn't have gone into work at all, but I had to turn our computers on.
Well, I tried to turn on the computers at 9 am, but the power was still out. The contractor has been turning off the power in the our building for the past few months to replace aluminum wires with the copper ones that they were supposed to use in the first place. f*k'n crooked and/or incompetent people! I couldn't wait around for them to turn the power back on, because I had to tutor. That's where I got a lecture on racism and discrimination, well more like a racist lecture filled with discrimination and hatred. Ugh, how ignorant people can be! The woman pays me very well, so I listen to her drivel without saying much. I wonder if she even notices the disgust in my eyes. I'll paraphrase a few comments:

The beginning:
"You know it wasn't the blacks or the democrats that invented this holiday. It was a republican, Reagan. We don't need this holiday. Back in '82 when they started this I would have celebrated a day for Farrakhan, because it meant a free paid holiday."

A comment on current immigration policies and somehow directed at Muslims too because of the war in Iraq:
"You know Roosevelt put the Japanese in camps, because he didn't know who could be trusted."

Who she won't be voting for:
"Obama's got the blacks and Hillary has the spics."

When I got to comment number two, I wasn't sure I should continue. Why should this women's words be posted. Well for one I feel like getting this off my chest and for two I don't think I should censor my experiences.
As for my opinion, I think Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a holiday that should be remembered and observed. Concentration camps and segregation are the result of fear and hatred. I don't agree with either. Obama/Hillary08? I don't know, this voter's still undecided.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

You know, the world thinks that the English are terrible cooks (which is probably true) butttttttt they make really good muffins. mmm mm m especially if you toast them and put a slice of American cheese on top.
Sunday, January 20, 2008

It snowed in Atlanta again today. We've had two "real" snow falls this week, with the first being on Wednesday. Big snow flakes and some actual accumulation (ok so probably less than an inch), but it is more than the flurries I've seen since moving here two and a half years ago.

So how have I been spending my time over these past few years?
I've met a lot of new people and have expanded my life of multiple groups of friends to even more multiples. I feel like I've lost touch with some of my old comrades, but I think they are still my great friends. It's hard since so many people are in so many different places ... Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Portland, San Diego, State college, DC, Delaware, Newark, Colorado, Boston, Chicago, Mobile, Montana, Clearwater, Long Island, soon to be etc, etc, etc ...

I wish I could visit you all ... and all of you are more than welcome to visit me.
Sunday, April 15, 2007

Check here for photos of my sketchbook:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/63363775@N00/
